Kim Kinnavy is a motivated sales and marketing professional with over a decade of experience in new business development and strategic planning. She’s highly focused on organizational management, project management, and prioritizing with a special emphasis on logistics and supply chain management.
How many years have you been in the produce industry?
I’m going on 24 years and have just started at West Pak.
Why are you passionate for avocados?
I love avocados! One thing I like about the commodity is that people do have a big passion on the consumer side. It’s one of those items that if you ask anybody about avocados, they say, “Who doesn’t love avocados?” I have been in produce for a long time and I have dabbled in many areas including bananas, pineapples, melons, avocados, and citrus. I’m super excited about being this involved with avocados.
What is your role at West Pak?
I am based out of Chicago and will handle sales and business development in the central United States.
What are you most excited to see in the future of produce innovation?
I’m most excited about the retail bags and how they have become such a popular item. I love the recipes and the bagging ideas. At the retail level, we need to continue to come up with innovative ways to get consumers excited about avocados. We need to make people more aware of the health benefits of avocados, as it would have a significant impact on the consumer side.
What are you most looking forward to at this year’s PMA Fresh Summit?
I am definitely excited to see the customers that I have been working with and to let them know that I am on board with West Pak. I completely 100% back what West Pak is doing and where they’re going. West Pak has such amazing people and a great team to work with. I’m looking forward to working with them all. I’ve never been this excited to be on board with something. This is a pretty awesome feeling. PMA is going to be such an exciting event!
