Employee Spotlight: Graciela Perez

Graciela Perez has been with West Pak Avocado since December 2016, working out of the Groupo facility in Mexico. As Human Resources Supervisor, she ensures that the personnel administration processes are executed efficiently and that West Pak Healthy Labor Relations are maintained with all employees. 

How do you incorporate West Pak principles and values into your job? 

GP: My main function is to share with all the employees of the company, the principles, values ​​and to make sure that the West Pak culture is maintained and strengthened.

What is the best aspect of your role? 

GP: I like to be the person who can develop strategies that help improve the quality of personal and work life of employees, develop them and contribute to achieving the objectives of the employees and the company, in addition to contributing to social development.

How has your role changed over time? 

GP: I started working at West Pak as a Human Resources Assistant; then I was promoted to Coordinator of Attraction and Talent Development. Later I was promoted to Coordinator of Human Resources Administration and Labor Relations. A few months ago, I was promoted to Human Resources Supervisor, being my current position.

What is the most challenging part of your position?

GP: Hiring in different regions and finding the right people to fit the culture that West Pak has.

What is a typical day like for you? 

GP: A typical day would be administrative duties, doing payroll, any promotions the company is going to do for employees, any employee issues, concerns, or complaints, meetings with personnel, their goal for the next quarter, and preparing for the next fiscal year.

What are your favorite hobbies? 

GP: In my free time, I really like to read, exercise, and meet my family and friends. 

What was the last book you read?

Muchas Vidas, Muchas Maestros (Lots of Lives, Lots of Professors).

What is your favorite quote? 

GP: I don’t have a favorite phrase because I believe that for each moment or situation there is a new learning and a different phrase to apply.

What is your favorite way to eat avocados?

GP: I love guacamole!

Do you have a favorite piece of avocado memorabilia?

GP: I have an avocado umbrella and some hats, but would love to get an avocado keychain.

If you could be a superhero, which one would it be?

GP: Wonderwoman!
