October is Global Company Culture Month, a time to celebrate the people and principles that shape who we are as a company. At West Pak Avocado, our culture is rooted in collaboration, purpose, and growth — values that define not only how we work, but how we thrive together.
As we mark this month, our People Operations Director, Emily Adams, Esq., shares her reflections on joining West Pak and her vision for continuing to nurture a workplace where every individual feels valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.
A Welcome from Emily Adams
After a few months of settling in at West Pak Avocado, I want to take a moment to share my reflections and reaffirm my commitment to our people and our mission.
It’s been an incredible experience joining a company so deeply rooted in purpose, innovation, and community. Coming from a background that spans over 15 years in Human Resources leadership and 8 years in regulatory compliance and quality systems management—as well as a foundation in law—I’ve had the privilege of working across diverse industries. But stepping into the world of produce, and into West Pak specifically, has been uniquely inspiring.
What stands out most is the heart of this organization: our people. I’ve seen firsthand the dedication, talent, and collaboration that drive our success. I believe that our greatest asset isn’t just what we grow, but who we grow with. That belief continues to guide my approach as we build a culture where every individual feels valued, supported, and empowered to thrive.
The People Operations Department is here to serve as a strategic partner across all teams—working together to enhance performance, elevate engagement, and align our people strategies with our business goals. Whether through talent development, recognition programs, inclusive events, or learning opportunities, we’re focused on creating a workplace that reflects our values and amplifies our impact.
As we move forward, my vision remains clear: to cultivate a culture rooted in excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. I invite each of you to share your ideas, embrace new possibilities, and continue shaping West Pak into a place where excellence is not just a goal—it’s our way of life.
